So while I am on this “sides” kick, I figured I would give you a bbq classic and show you how to make some coleslaw. I am not a big fan of slaw, but I do like one kind… *cough* KFC *cough* yeah yeah, I know…. but deal with it ;-p
This recipe is pretty close to that flavor, so enjoy.
The Sloppy Stuff:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1-1/4 tsp vinegar
- 2-1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp Kosher Salt
- A pinch of fresh cracked black pepper
The Slaw
- 1/2 head of cabbage
- 1/2 head of iceberg lettuce
- 1/4 cup shredded carrots
- 1/4 of an onion minced
The Process:
Using a nice sharp knife, chop the cabbage and the lettuce down to a nice small eatable size. Take the shredded carrots plus the cabbage and lettuce and add them to a bowl. Now finely chop you onion down and add that as well.
Now just mix all the sloppy stuff first and then add the mixture to the slaw mix. Mix it up and whammy-bam you have some sloppy slaw.
Use it on the side of your next fine BBQ dish or add it to a pulled port sandwich, it will be great!
